Girls' Empowerment Initiative

Dedicated to breaking barriers for young women through education, mentorship, leadership training, and health awareness programs. We believe empowered girls become empowered communities.

The Girls' Center

In 2014, Global FICCS founded the Girls’ Center to provide a safe environment for young women to live, learn, and grow. Based in Kariobangi, Kenya, the Center offers health, life skills, and computer training; introductory academic and trades education; and mental health services to a cohort of 20 young women each year. Additionally, Global FICCS has provided over 15 scholarships to participants hoping to pursue careers in nursing, childhood development, and computer science. The success of this program has helped cultivate relationships with other community programs, creating a strong network of social outreach in multiple communities.

Hawker's Market

Hawker’s Market is an empowerment program for young women who face economic hardship, providing skills training in sewing, cooking, and computer proficiency. Global FICCS provides basic healthcare skills, including CPR to participants in addition to providing scholarships for graduates of the Hawer’s Market program who qualify for advanced-level education in health care or a related field.

Box Girls'

Boxgirls’ mission is to build safe communities by strengthening young women through education, leadership development, and violence prevention in disadvantaged communities.  Global FICCS works with Boxgirls’ to teach basic health skills as well as CPR training to help empower participants to be health advocates in their communities. Global FICCS also provides scholarships for young women involved in Boxgirls’ who are interested in pursuing a career in health care and other related fields so they can complete higher-level education.
